Rekha, Vishal Combine For A Song

Vishal Bhardwaj has composed a song for his former assistant's debut film.

The Haider director is back to making tunes. This time it's not for his film, but for Vibhu Puri's upcoming film Hawaizaada, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Pallavi Sharda.

The song in question is Main Dil Todne Ki Machine Hoon, a lavni number, sung by Vishal's wife Rekha.

Vishal didn't charge Vibhu any fee for his rendition.

The song introduces the film’s lading lady Pallavi (of Dabangg 2) in the narrative.

Confirming the story, Puri told SpotboyE.com, “Vishal sir has blessed my project.  He composed the song for me in a weeks time."

Gulzar's Maachis was Bhardwaj's first film as a music composer, which fetched him a Filmfare Award. In 1999, Bhardwaj received the Rajat Kamal award for Best Music Director at the National Film Awards for his critically acclaimed score in Godmother. In 2011, he has won the same category award for his score in Ishqiya. Bhardwaj has scored music for several Hindi films such as Satya, Chachi 420, Maqbool, Omkara, Kaminey, Ishqiya and 7 Khoon Maaf.
